Guerilla Business Intensive Singapore

Guerilla Business Intensive by T Harv Eker was held in Singapore between 16th-20th September 2009. However, I went down to Singapore with Edmund Loh, my biz partner, a day earlier to meet up with some other Internet marketers beforehand. Over dim sum and board games, I met Calvin Woon, Patricia Lin, Jonathan Teng and Jhong Ren.

The next day we headed to expo hall for the course and once again I’d say T Harv Eker over delivers with his training. 5 intensive days of jam packed training from business development, sales funnel, leadership, copywriting, negotiation skills and more! There were some information which I was already applying in my businesses however Harv Eker had the ability to make the business model crystal clear and expanded my ideas to the next level.

We also had guest speakers like Joel Roberts, Alex Mandossain and co-speaker Kieran Sweeny on stage with us. If anyone aspires to become a better business person, I’d say this is a course to go for but hang on to your credit cards as Harv Eker’s team can be pretty persuasive with the upsells. However there were so much to learn from them even as they were selling more courses to us! lol! ;-)

After GBI, we stayed for another night at Singapore. We bunked at Foo’s house, played more boardgames, headed out for the arcade, movie and caught dinner with some other friends currently residing in Singapore.

All in all, this was another fun and enlightening experience. My idea bucket is definitely filling up now! ;-)

Redang Island Family Beach Holiday

It’s been over 15 years since I’ve gone on a proper vacation with this side of my family. I used to be rather close with my cousins when we were little infants. Back then, it used to be all play, fun and laughter.

Port Dickson with my cousins - many many years back

Port Dickson with my cousins - many many years back

Our parents often took us to the Port Dickson beach over the weekends. Back then we’d make sand castle, swim in our little black tubes at the beachfront  and occasionally we went crab catching if we got to the beach early enough.

Now fast forward with a blink of an eye, more than a decade has passed. This time round the little family rascals organized another beach trip and took the parents for a beach vacation instead.

Redang Island was the chosen getaway. It is located near the South China Sea at Kuala Terengganu and I am proud to say this is one of the most beautiful island in the world and yet it is located in my very own country :)

Amazing Redang

Amazing Redang

It’s my 3rd visit to Redang and each time I revisit, I am reminded of why I keep going back over and over again. This place is simply enchanting. Crystal blue clear waters, soft white sand and an awe-inspiring beautiful marine life. :)

Here’s a snapshot of the family rascals. Men and women now. Plus the new additions to the family :)

Granny came along with us. I believe for most of our folks, it was their first experience to such a glorious island. I had to photoshop Uncle Alan into the group picture because he got overly excited upon arrival. He hurried to check ito the hotel to put on his bathing suit and missed the family photo.

It was so much fun hanging out with the cousins again. Reminds me of good-old, good-old memories. Not all of them are here with us on this trip, but Franco and Cliffton are the closer ones I used to hang out with a lot during my childhood. We took about five snapshots in the attempt to get that perfect jump shot! This is the one where we finally got it right!

Picture at the marine park. Here you can watch schools of fishes swimming together. Simply magnificient! I love the marine life. Some of us spotted the murray eel and giant garoupa here as well. It was the first time snorkeling for mom, aunty Josephine, uncle Alan and Graham. They had a really good time once they got the hang of the snorkels and masks.

Here’s me and mom hanging out at the beach front of Laguna resort. Thank goodness for sunshades. It was really hot on the third day. Beautiful background, wouldn’t you agree? Mom was really happy throughout the trip. I haven’t seen her with so much glee in the recent years. Things are getting better now for her :)

Beach Bum Making Money Online

Here’s me brainstorming some ideas on the bonus E-book on How to Create 5 Figures Income Online.
I actually made some sales too while I was away on holiday. Surprises me from time to time that some old campaigns still brings the bacon home. :)

The family get-together was really heartfelt. This side of my family has gone through many financial struggles previously. And there was a long period of worries, remorse and heartaches. Times are definitely much better now for us. Even better now with more of my Internet Business ideas kicking off :)

I’d like my next family trip to be in New York. I’d like to take my mom to New York  to visit her youngest sister. Aunty Terrenze and Uncle Burn took care of me and my sister between the age of 7-9yrs. I have not seen them for over 10 yrs now.  It’s time I go over and visit them :)

Putrajaya Dragonboat Race: 4secs Too Late to Bring the Medal Home!

Team Corezone-BUFF
Team Corezone-BUFF

It was a sunny bright morning. Everyone was exciting. Team Corezone-BUFF was gearing up with their gels and bars. The other teams were also getting ready. Friends came to support and wished us good luck.

As I was paddling to the start of our race lane with the team, I suddenly felt butterflies in my stomach. It’s been a while since I participated in a competitive event, more so it was dragonboat, which I have never done before!

The referee shouted from his microphone, “Ready Ladies, Attention, GO!” We digged in deep and we felt our boat charging off at the start of the racing line. It felt like we had a bit of a lead for the first 50ms. It was very close with the other girls.

Coming to the 100m, I saw started to notice the dragonhead on my left passing by. Holy crap I told myself. Lol! But I kept paddling and paddling. Then another 100 m or so, I started to see the red team coming after us on the right. Holy crap again!

I was huffin and puffin with the other girls! I kept digging and digging but I was also slipping and slipping off my seat. Very soon before I knew it, the race was over.

We finished in 4th! 4 seconds too late to bring home a medal! But hey… the shocking news was, we finished off with 3.00minutes! That’s 15 seconds faster than our best practice time!

Though, we left the race course with a little pinch in our stomachs like “damn it! I could have given a little bit more to finish 4 seconds earlier” but hey, I thought it was one awesome experience we left off with. We’ll do better next year girls!

Putrajaya Dragonboat Race: Gonna make all the Huffin’ and Puffin’ worthwhile!

Yesterday was my final team practice for the upcoming Putrajaya International Dragonboat Festival 2009. It is the first time Putrajaya is having this international event and I feel an outburst of energy about it! My team Corezone-BUFF have been training every fortnight over the past many weekends . We all started with zilch knowledge and experience for this activity. I remember how cacat (handicapped) we looked about 8-10weeks ago. Not only did we row awkwardly while huffin’ and puffin’, we were most definitely not in sync as a team. Thinking back, it has been quite a team journey. :-)

For the dragonboat sport, the secret is to get your entire team paddling and propelling at the same time. It doesn’t matter if you’re a power and strong rower. Team work definitely makes the magic work with dragonboat. Today our rowing efforts are definitely more synchronized. I actually feel rather proud of how far we’ve come :)

Yesterday was a fantastic practice. Great team effort. We had the best time record ever from our fortnightly practice - 500 metres, 3:15 minutes . I am not sure how we stand among the other teams, but it felt like good timing for an absolute amateur team!

We’ll be racing with 5 other teams which makes a total of 6 boats for our category.
1    Pos Malaysia
2    Team Splash
3    Pacific West Foods (M) Sdn Bhd
4    Team CorezoneBUFF
5    Team Venus-Get Active
6    Skrine Dragon KL
