My Money Management Jars: Taking Control

*Ca-Ching-Ching!
*Ca-Ching-Ching!

These are my money management jars *Ca-Ching-Ching! I headed over to Giant yesterday to get the jars. They cost RM1.75 each. So I made my set with just RM10.50. Not bad huh given that this simple system will actually help me take control of my financial destiny. *WooHoo!

This money management jars system was thought at Milionare Mindset Intensive. No doubt I could have just opened up my excel sheets and open up a few more bank accounts to organise this through online management - It’d be a lot more convenient too. But I’m applying what I learnt, “Physical is Memorable”. These jars is sitting on my coffee table now. There are no cookies in there. I made sure there weren’t any left over crumbs either. haha! just joking, those jars are brand new! I’m simply adding metal and notes everyday, conditioning myself to wealth creation habits. *Ca-Ching-Ching!

If you notice from the picture above, there is also a 5c coin celluphaned to my FFA jar. This is to remind me no.1 of MMI that turned my life around and no.2 that I am a Money Magnet! Those who has attended MMI would know exactly what I’m talking about! And also, there’s that first cheque in my FFA jar, which I wrote to myself. :)

For those who don’t know about this system and are curious about it, well here’s a little insight. Basically you should distribute your incomes to the following:

FFA - Financial Free Account –> min 10%
LTSS - Long Term Spending Savings –> 10%
NEC - Necessities –> 55%
EDU - Education –> 10%
PLAY - Play –> 10%
GIVE - Give –> 5%

  • FFA is your golden goose. This jar is never ever ever ever spent. This is the money that you use to create your golden eggs, i.e. passive income.
  • LTSS is for your big ticket items. You may save up here for big purchases such as a vacation, car, 2nd home, plasma TV, etc. This jar is also used to pay off your debts.
  • NEC is for your necessities such as food, clothings, utility bills, house/car loan, etc.
  • PLAY is for well, Play!! For savers like me, some of you may have been too hard on yourself. Remember if you don’t allow your spirit to play it will rebel against you. So go nurture yourself and… make sure you blow this jar every month!
  • GIVE on the other hand is your part to give back to the community. It could be in the form of money or even your time and efforts.

I am convinced that this system will change my financial destiny and help me take control of it. With that, I wish that everyone who attended MMI 2009 KL have already started their systems. What we learnt at MMI was invaluable and life-changing. Yes or Yes? :)

Those who hadn’t attend the seminar, well, I highly recommend it! T. Harv Eker’s team will be in London Aug 09 and Singapore Nov 09. Also, get hold of the book Secrets of The Millionaire Mind!

It’s time to live abundantly because YOU ARE WORTHY!

P.S: Millionaire Mind attendees, drop me a note here and let me know how you’re doing with your money management system!
